1. 3D Immersive Viewing System
Now this is what I call a 3d Screen. The Visionstation is a 3D Immersive Viewing System that can be used for many applications. Sure it can be used for business and stuff but what I think we're all reallly interested in is using it for gaming. This screen has a 160 degree display that uses the depth of it to give off the illusion of 3D minus the goofy glasses. It is 1.5 meters tall and the price....well it isn't posted on their site. So....it is probably a couple thousand dollars.

2. Optical projection system including projection dome
Patent Number:US6530667
Publication Date:2003-03-11
Application Date:2000-02-08
Inventor:IDASZAK RAYMOND L (US);ZOBEL JR RICHARD W (US);COLUCCI D NARDO (US);BALU SURESH (US)
Applicant:ELUMENS CORP (US)
Abstract:
A visual workstation for use by a viewer includes a dome having an open front end and a truncated spherical inner dome surface. A work surface is disposed in front of and adjacent the dome front end. The work surface defines a viewer area on a side of the work surface opposite the dome. The viewer area is sized and configured to receive the viewer and is positioned relative to the spherical inner dome surface such that the viewer, when located in the viewer area, may view the spherical inner dome surface. A projector is disposed between the viewer area and the dome. The projector is operative to project a truncated spherical projection onto the inner dome surface.

Abstract:
A three-dimensional display device having a generally hemispherical configuration with a displayed image or reflecting surface on either or both of its inner concave surface and its outer convex surface. The device includes at least three portions which are curved and angled to create the hemispherical shape and approximate the horizontal and vertical span of human peripheral vision without significant distortion. The device may be constructed as a rigid device or as a pop-up device movable between a flat folded position and an expanded hemispherical position. The pop-up may be constructed as a stand-alone device or is insertable between the pages of a magazine, greeting card, or like device. A method is provided for taking a series of photographs to be joined along shared match lines to create a composite panoramic display on the hemispherical display surface.; A camera fixture is provided for taking a series of pictures according to the method of the invention. This is continuation-in-part of Ser. No. 07/219,479 filed by Arthur Alperin on July 15, 1988 entitled "Pop-Up" now U.S. Pat. No. 4,910,899.

4. Immersive Gaming: The Challenge
For many game genres it is desirable for the enjoyment and engagement of the game, but also game performance, to attempt to immerse the player in the virtual environment. That is, to facilitate a suspension of belief such that the player experiences a heightened sense of being in the games virtual world.

5. VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE DEVICE WITH IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE
Patent Number:JP7080096
Publication Date:1995-03-28
Application Date:1993-09-14
Inventor:MIZUNO KATSUYOSHI;SHIROCHI YOSHIKI;KAMAYA NAOKI
Applicant:SONY CORP
Abstract:
URPOSE:To constitute the device so that both mind and body can be relaxed by physical exercise, and also, a virtual presence can further be obtained, in an athletic device, etc. CONSTITUTION:By sending air from the front of a person who is taking exercise through a ventilator 7 from a ventilation box 10, fresh air is allowed to circulate and refreshed, so that not only relaxation by physical exercise but also relaxation of mind can be obtained. Also, by aligning the ventilation with an advance action of the person who is taking exercise together with a display image of a projector 12, he is allowed to feel a sensation of running and a sensation of speed, and the presence is improved. Also, by using that which executes a projection display by the projector 12 to a hemispherical dome shape screen 13, as an image display device, a stereoscopic effect is sensed by the display image, and the person can devote himself easily to an action of physical exercise, etc., by an image further filled with the presence.

6. Systems and methods for full hemispherical projection using multiple projectors that generate multiple arrays of image pixels that overlap along a single edge
Patent Number:US2004145709
Publication Date:2004-07-29
Application Date:2003-09-17
Inventor:COLUCCI D NARDO (US);BALU SURESH (US);IDASZAK RAYMOND L (US);FLETCHER TIM (US)
Abstract:
An optical projection system includes a first image source that is configured to generate a first array of image pixels and a first lens assembly that is configured to project the first array of image pixels onto a non-planar surface. A second image source is configured to generate a second array of image pixels and a second lens assembly is configured to project the second array of image pixels onto the non-planar surface. The first and second arrays of image pixels overlap along a single edge and the combination of the first and second arrays of image pixels covers a continuous portion of the surface.
