Patentability Search Request - Help
Submitting a Patentability search request requires the following information:

  1. Defining the field category for the search
A broad definition of the field. Usually a choice from a general list of typical subjects according to the technical features of the inventions (i.e.: Medical/Health; Civil Engineering, Agriculture)

  2. Title of the invention to be searched
The title of a patent is like a headline of a newspaper; it must be indicative of the nature or scope of the patent at hand (i.e.: A windshield wiper with bow-shaped flexible blade; Method and System for Advanced Reward Program).

  3. The problem/need to be solved/bettered by the invention
Inventions are predominantly objects, processes, or techniques aimed at solving or bettering a real-life problem or need. A description of that problem or need is necessary for a coherent search (i.e.: To assist the self-supporting life of a solitary aged person or a company employee who lives apart from the family, etc.).

  4. Description of the invention
The description is a summary of the invention (an abstract). The information in the description must contain a condensed version of your invention and focus on the original (novel) elements that distinct your invention from other known devices/methods/processes. The description should be focused more on the essence of the invention and less on the supporting elements.

  5. Known or existing prior art
A list of references to known patents, products, articles, websites or any other form of published material that is similar, close or relevant at any degree to the invention at hand.

  6. Drawings/Sketches/Photos etc.
Any graphic material which can shed light on the nature of the invention or is necessary for a better understanding of the uniqueness of the invention over other known ideas/products/processes/methods.
